Twyla’s Story

I was born into this world, a person who easily puts others first (in front of my own needs). I’ve always been an excessive worrier and doer. The perfectionist and caretaker are strong parts that would take over, sending me through cycles of ups and downs regularly.

It wasn’t until I was living on the other side of the world in India, that it dawned on me, “Ohhh, my thoughts and my perspective are what’s creating anxiety and seasonal depression!” Living in an amazing place, with so many new experiences, I still couldn’t escape myself. This was where I met my teacher, Prasad Rangkar, and I haven’t felt seasonal depression in years.

Traditional yoga has been my path to deeper self-understanding and connecting with concrete tools that are already within me to manage emotions, mood and life stressors with confidence. The change has been lasting and continues to evolve every day.

I’m a licensed mental health and substance abuse therapist and RYT-500 Yoga teacher. It’s my passion to share the alternative view of mental health that yoga provides and, combined with my 15+ years in the mental health field, to help individuals find lasting healing and self-growth. It’s about healing from the inside out.

I’m living proof that it is possible to regulate emotions effectively to be able to live a more content, joyful and peaceful life. I’d love to have you join me in this journey!
